Hello I am Sharon Ladd I have owned Pawsitively Pampered and Wind Strong Morgans ® for 23 years. Kevin and myself Sharon Ladd belong to the Portuguese Water Dog Club of Canada and the Portuguese Water Club of America. I am registered as Port Colborne Kennels with the Canadian Kennel Club and am also a member of the American Kennel Club. I have been involved in breeding, grooming and training dogs and training horses most of my life. I started researching the breed in 1998 and after owning and breeding registered German Shephards and Registered Yorkshire Terriers for many years. Now I am solely into Portuguese Water Dogs. When I say researched I actually went and worked for breeders and groomed, went to shows and learned what I could before committing to the breed. I only wanted the best so I hunted and read and studied who was winning and why I checked out health and made sure tests were done then I purchased only after I made sure they were good breeding stock.
I own Pawsitively Pampered where I groom all breeds of dogs and cats
and also board my clients pets. I am known for individual grooming
appointments for undivided attention. This makes the pet comfortable
and stress free and no cage drying, which means approximately 2 hours
of one on one time. I offer my puppy people free grooming for a year,
2 sessions or lessons on how to groom their pet as these porties need
grooming so they do not mat. All my new puppy owners can board at my
home for short or long term . You can train or even practise water
work in the pond complete with equipment, dock , and boat. If you
wish you can practice on the agility course, or even socializing and
obedience training with an instructor in the dog park situated right
here at Pawsitively Pampered.
Breeding these dogs is a lifetime responsibility. If for any reason
your situation changes and you cannot keep the dog you purchased from
me, you are to return it to me and I will either find it a new home or
let it live out the rest of its life here at its place of birth . If I
receive any monies after expenses for re-adoption you will receive it.
I sell my puppies as registered CKC, microchipped, pet puppies with a
contract that spells out everything we agree on so there are no
misunderstandings. I also have a health quarantee. I feed my dogs a
natural diet because I like the health
benefits, but I know it isn't for everyone and that can be put in the
contract if you like. I have the dew claws removed at a very young age
and they receive all their puppy shots and are dewormed and health
checked with certificates before leaving at approximately 8 weeks of
age. I do recommend visiting your vet within 24 hours to confirm the
health of your new pup.
Before you decide on this breed, which by the way is not for every one
as they are active and love attention. They love being close to you
constantly as they are a working dog: this is what they are bred to
do. I live with 10 of these wonderful dogs. I have 2 curly males, 5
Wavy females and 3 Wavy males they are all different in personalities.
Some are more energetic than others but all are extremely loving,
friendly, and want nothing more than to please you. I also love the
breed because I enjoy the challenge and ability for them to do many
things that you would not think a dog could do. The fact they do not
shed is great when you have so many or they are a companion.
All the dogs that I am breeding have their genetic tests. For example;
cerf tests yearly, Optigen A for eyes have been tested and hips are
good or excellent. I have 4 bloodlines here and the parents are on
site and available if you would like to check them out. I also breed
for Conformation (to breed specifics). This is the home of Champion
Port Colborne's Paws on Deck he is one of my pups. It is also the home of Champion Port Colborne's Aldalpho, also Champion Portcolborne's Black Galaxy and Champion Portcolborne's Sunsplash lives with my dad in Brighton.. I
am very proud of my dogs and love them all .
ANOTHER NEW CHAMPION!! for 2008
Both of my bred Champions produced Champions and both were my FOUNDATION MOM'S LAST LITTERS they are now enjoying their retirement . CHAMPION PORTCOLBORNE'S SUN SPLASH( Sire Champion Portcolborne's Paws on Deck. Dam Pouch Cove's Ribbon of Hope) " Splash" lives with my dad Don Whalen in Brighton . He is very much loved and loves dad. I am so proud of you my SPLISH SPLASH.
July 30th and All puppies are spoken for. CONGRATULATIONS !! to all our new and even 2nd time PWD puppy owners on their beautiful new additions to their families. Remember I will always be available if you have ANY questions for the lifetime of your pup. Shown in this photo is my assistant Laura White and Phantom we just came back after all the puppies had their first car ride, puppy shots, health checks, and microchips inserted. The vet confirmed all the pups are very HEALTHY and they even all seemed to enjoy the whole experience .
We have bred another Canadian Champion Port Colborne's Black Galaxy. He got his Canadian Championship in Aurora May 31st 2008 . His father is Champion Port Colborne's Aldalpho CGN. TT. JWD. and his mom is Raffles Mini Me from her last litter. Mini Me is now enjoying her retirement.

We are so proud to announce Portcolborne's Aldalpho today September 16th 2007 in Woodstock Ontario has just completed and passed his Temperment Test, his Canine Good Neighbour Test and lastly his Urban Canine Companion Test along with many different breeds but he was the only Portuguese Water Dog and I was so very proud of his excellent behaviour and it was noticed and even commented on and I felt he did justice as an example of our wonderful breed today . What a 
wonderful day for me and this Therapy Dog in Training thankyou Dalph .
February 17th, 18th, 19th, 2007
Port Colborne's Aldalpho "Dalph" won Best of Winners 3 days in a row at his very first show February 17th , 18th , and 19th at the Ontario Breeders Show. He also won Best of Winners at the Purina National show in Tillsonburg March 11th 2007. Shown here with his Handler John Glover. He now has 4 Majors his next show is in Windsor March 17th.

He did it what a Christmas present and birthday present Canadian , American Champion Port Colborne's Paws on Deck December 14th, 2006 in Cleveland Ohio got another 4 point Major his 5th American Major . He is now a American Champion as well as a Canadian Champion that's my boy we are all so proud of you "DECKER".
